Cataract and vitreoretinal surgery training

Eyesi® Surgical is a high-end virtual reality simulator for intraocular surgery training. The Eyesi® platform can be equipped with interfaces for vitreoretinal and cataract surgery. Software modules provide the actual training content. Available modules include basic skills training, training of surgical procedures and complications management.

Embedded curriculum

The Eyesi® Surgical courseware is a set of preinstalled courses, which offer training at different levels of difficulty. Each course combines training of basic skills with training of surgical procedures in a consecutively structured course design, leading students step-by-step to expert performance.

Detailed performance assessment

The Eyesi® simulator provides trainees and educators with objective assessment and detailed skill evaluation. Various parameters relating to instrument and microscope handling, surgical efficiency and tissue treatment are recorded by the system and are stored in a database for further analysis.

Validated training concept

Numerous studies have proven the effectiveness of practicing with Eyesi® Surgical and have shown that both beginners and experienced surgeons can benefit from simulator-based training.
